STUDY: Lessons of music history and history of Italian Opera.
Course on the music history, focus on Melodrama, from the beginning (in Florence, XV century) to contemporary composers.
Topics: Monteverdi, Comic and Serious Opera, Vivaldi, Pergolesi, Mozart, Rossini, Belcanto, Verdi, Puccini, Mascagni, Leoncavallo, Ponchielli, Menotti…
Analysis of the libretti of the most famous Italian Opera composers. Use of CD for listening.
SIGHT : Vision and comment by various editions of operas for the stage, cinema, television.
Course on different interpretations of Operas, and also with different languages, like stage, cinema and television. Use of DVD and VHS for the vision. Analysis of different directors. Very interesting course for developing a critic and personal interpretation of the operatic roles.

Course on vocal technique to learn the correct respiration in order to obtain better sound emission. A particular attention to the diction for singing Italian arias in a correct Italian language
